DGES defines Portugal’s public higher-education network as comprising exactly 14 public universities, alongside public polytechnics and military/police schools. Every single one is profiled below.
For Master’s applicants, the exact programme page takes precedence over general university portals. Specific admission calls, English proficiency requirements, tuition fees, and deadlines differ between faculties.
Do not assume that a Pakistani English-medium Bachelor’s degree or Medium of Instruction (MOI) letter will be automatically accepted across all Portuguese universities. Many programmes require explicit faculty confirmation or IELTS/TOEFL. Always verify first.
Academic transcripts and degree certificates issued outside the EU require MOFA attestation / Apostille legalisation and official certified translation into Portuguese or English, depending on individual university statutes.
